Cyber Awareness Campaign Next Year

KUCHING: Eduspec Holdings Berhad, a ICT education provider, has pledged to bring a campaign on cyber awareness to Sarawak next year.
Its chief executive officer Lim Een Hong said Eduspec would run the campaign with Microsoft.“We are targeting parents and tea-chers specifically as they need to have better understanding of ICT,” he said at the closing of the 19th Dyna-book National ICT competition here.He said there was a lot of misconception that ICT was more destructive to society.As such, he said the campaign hopes to clear the air and allay fears. If used wisely, ICT could yield so many benefits and generate opportunities for the users.Lim said Eduspec had also incorporated in its syllabus several elements pertaining to good moral, and also lessons on common cyber viruses.“We want children to be responsible users, which means raising better understanding of ICT among teachers and parents,” he said.This was why, he said Eduspec also continued to hold many competitions in which teachers and parents were involved.In his press release, Lim said the 21st century needed an effective learning environment that called for robust partnership between the government and the private sector.
